Chongqing Normal University Foreign Trade and Business College

Foreign Trade and Business College of Chongqing Normal University has been approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education. It is a full time regular undergraduate college. After over 10 years’ development, the school has become a multidisciplinary coordinated developing school. The school keeps improving the quality of teaching and tries the best to make the school to be a standout school all over China.

The school has two campuses now which are Hechuan campus and Tongliang campus. The school is divided into seven secondary colleges: the college of economics and trade, the college of literature and journalism, the college of foreign language, the college of mathematics and computer, the college of management, the college of art and design, the college of performing arts. The school also has established the office of public education, the college of modern education and training, and an international college. The school now has 28 undergraduate majors. English major has been approved the special major of “Chongqing three specials action”. The school now has 16397 students.

The school attaches great importance of building the teachers community and the teaching conditions. There are over 32% professors and 65% masters in the school. The school also has a Chongqing teaching lab, a Chongqing college students outdoor experience lab, a Chongqing college students entrepreneurial lab, a Chongqing micro-enterprises training lab, 5 experimental teaching centers, 134 labs and 84 outdoor labs.

The school also continuously focus on building the communication with international colleges and cultivates the character of “foreign trade”. During these years, the school has a great cooperation with the colleges in America. The school hires over 10 foreign teachers every year. The school also sent over 200 teachers and students to study, internship and work abroad.

The school always places students first, and keeps improving the teaching quality. The school wins a great reputation in society. During these three years, the students has been rewarded 37 national rank 1 prizes and 136 rank 2 prizes. The employment rate of graduate always keeps above 94%. The school has been rewarded over 90 prizes including “the Advanced Unit of Students’ Management Works in Chongqing”, “the Advanced Unit of Graduates’ Employment in Chongqing” and “the National Advanced Independent College”.

Foreign Exchange Activities

International College of FTBC, was founded in 2010. In these years, the school cooperates with many foreign colleges. The school has already invited the professors from Greensboro campus of the University of North Carolina, Kentucky University, business college of Seton Hall University, Long beach campus of California State University and Howon University. From 2010, the school successfully held two great international activities and invited more than 40 professors from America to come to stay with our students during the summer term. The school also welcomed the jazz band from UMHB and full-bright-hays professors.

The Situation of Hiring the Foreign Teachers

The school hires about 10 foreign teachers from America, Canada and Britain to be oral English teacher every year. The school provides all kinds of international programs for the students to choose, holds a lot of international communication activities to cultivate the international talents, and supports all the students who wants to study abroad.

Overseas Study of Work

The school provides all kinds if overseas study programs for the students of different levels every year such as visit and study in Minnesota University. So far, there are 10 students participated in this program and 4 students have been accepted by Minnesota University to study bachelor degree. The school also provides the students to work abroad. From 2013, about 100 students have participated in summer work program in America. During these years, the school sends many students to famous foreign colleges to study such as: the University of Minnesota, Greensboro campus of the University of North Carolina, Seton Hall University, Long beach campus of California State University, National University and so on.

International Students Program

The school began the short-term Chinese major international students program since 2015. Right now there are two international students from America to study Chinese and Chinese culture for one school year. The school provides special teachers, books, managers and dormitory for international students. Nowadays, our school is the only one which has international students program among all the independent college in Chongqing.
